Black Coffee requests privacy for his children after divorce confirmation
JOHANNESBURG — 17 October 2025
DJ Black Coffee has appealed to the public to stop sharing pictures of his children on social media following confirmation of his divorce from actress and fashion designer Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa.
The Grammy winner responded publicly days after Mlotshwa announced their divorce was finalized, ending their six-year separation. Mlotshwa had shared on social media: “Today with great emotion I write this. I am officially Miss Mlotshwa. I’m so grateful for this ugly journey that gave me so many lessons. Today God has laid a table for me…” (Instagram post).
In her statement, Mlotshwa thanked her legal team, saying they reminded her “how important it was to fight, most importantly for my children and more so for the rights of women in South Africa” (Instagram post).
On Monday, Black Coffee tweeted: “I understand that you people believe everything you read and that’s fine , as a father I have one request. Please stop posting my children on your socials” (Twitter post).
Social media users reacted differently to his plea. @NwayitelO commented: “Fair enough, and as much as you want your privacy respected, maybe start by keeping your children’s life off the internet too. You can’t pick and choose when the spotlight suits you” (Twitter post).
@Lord_GT15 warned that “The unfortunate thing is that the people to whom this is directed are likely to be fueled to do worse by this message,” while @EnerVest_ expressed sympathy: “I respect that, especially because you attend special ceremonies with your children like music awards where the media is all over” (Twitter posts).
User @ProNkosinathi advised Black Coffee to “disable the comments so that all these attention-seeking no-name brands can not comment” on future sensitive posts (Twitter post).
