Pabi Moloi announces resignation from Power 98.7 after joining in 2023

Media personality Pabi Moloi has left Power 98.7, confirming her resignation in a social media post last month. The former Power Lunch host ended her tenure after over a year at the station.

Moloi announced her departure on Instagram: “Hi friends. I resigned from Power FM last month. I look forward to this new chapter,” she wrote.

She joined Power 98.7 in June 2023 after leaving 947 radio. Her weekday show featured discussions on social issues and lifestyle topics with industry experts and listeners.

Despite leaving radio, Moloi remains active in media. Since July, she has hosted SABC3’s The Insurance Apprentice. “Hosting season 11 of The Insurance Apprentice is an exciting and rewarding experience. Each episode gives me the chance to engage dynamic young professionals shaping the future of insurance. I’m inspired by their resilience and drive,” she said.

Earlier this year, the 41-year-old broadcaster launched podcast A Brother and A Sister with her sibling Khabane Moloi.

Reflecting on her near 20-year career including SABC and MultiChoice work, Moloi told DRUM: “I’m very fortunate. I’ve never not had a job. I’ve been on television concurrently with radio, pretty much my entire career. It has taken the last two or three years for me to realise, ‘Oh, I think I want to build something for myself.’”

Moloi’s departure marks a new phase in her broadcasting journey.
