Rassie Erasmus tracks All Blacks on social media before tests
JOHANNESBURG — DATE NOT PROVIDED
Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus has started following the All Blacks on social media platform as part of his pre-match routine ahead of their two-test series in September.
This mirrors Erasmus’ approach with the Wallabies, where he followed their online activity before the recent match against Australia.
When asked about the tactic last year, Erasmus told reporters: “It’s just interesting for me. It’s not mind games. Guys tweet stuff about their team, and you see it, and you might learn something there.”
He explained: “It’s just like I get the newspaper. It’s only online, then you go and look there and see what you can see, and you look at the photos and you try and see what they’re trying to do there.”
Erasmus added: “It’s really just nice to know what they’re up to.”
The Springboks will play New Zealand at Auckland’s Eden Park on 6 September and at Wellington’s Sky Stadium on 13 September.
