Springboks to Face Japan at Wembley in November Rematch

JOHANNESBURG — October 2023

World champions Springboks will meet Japan at London’s Wembley Stadium on 1 November in a much-anticipated rugby clash.

The match will kick off at 16:10 UK time (18:10 SA time), launching both teams’ northern hemisphere tours. Organisers confirmed the fixture will mark rugby’s return to Wembley for the first time since 2016.

This encounter revives memories of Japan’s famous win against South Africa at the 2015 Rugby World Cup – known as the “Miracle of Brighton”.

Tactical masterminds Rassie Erasmus (Springboks) and Eddie Jones (Japan) will renew their coaching rivalry. Organisers say: “This match is more than a game – it’s a celebration of world-class rugby in a world-class venue.”

Tickets start from £55 for adults and £27.50 for under-16s through Ticketmaster UK. Groups booking 10+ adult tickets receive a 10% discount.
