Stellenbosch’s Blaauwklippen Wins Top Global Heritage Award

Blaauwklippen wine estate near Stellenbosch has won the Best Heritage Wine Estate award at the Global Brand Awards in Dubai.

The historic farm beat over 18,000 entries across 30 categories to claim the title in June (source not provided).

Established in 1682, Blaauwklippen ranks among South Africa’s oldest wine estates and oldest registered companies (unverified).

Its name, “Blaauwklippen”, means “Blue Stones” and was reportedly inspired by blue hues in local rock formations.

The award recognises the 343-year-old estate’s contribution to preserving Cape Winelands heritage (Global Brand Awards).
