Natasha Joubert Relives Magical Miss SA 2023 Crowning Night

Natasha Vermaak relives “shock” and joy of Miss SA crown two years later

Miss South Africa 2023 Natasha Vermaak has shared emotional throwbacks to her crowning moment two years after winning the title, describing overwhelming shock and divine timing.

The model-entrepreneur, who now uses her married surname Vermaak, posted Instagram memories from 13 August 2023 showing her tearful stage moment. She wrote: “2 years. 13 August 2023. When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen. I remember these moments so clearly, so vividly. I was so present that night, and I had never surrendered more to my fate than I did on 13 August 2023.”

In Instagram Stories, she described her disbelief: “The shock hit me like a wave, from here I remember very little. My crowning moment was pure shock. I remember how present I was that night. I truly enjoyed every second.”

Vermaak also revisited her final day as Miss SA with a crown photo posted days earlier, captioned: “A year ago today was my last day as Miss SA. I posted these a year ago, and don’t know why they aren’t on my feed. 3 Memories to forever and everrr cherish!”

Fans flooded her posts with messages including: “How was this two years ago already? Still so proud, and so loved” (Aneoosthuysen) and “God is so faithful. Watching you being crowned… was surreal. You were radiant, powerful, and SO clearly destined for that crown” (ghee_ann).

Her reflections coincided with current Miss SA Mia Le Roux’s tribute to host Bonang Matheba, who supported her during the 2024 crowning. Le Roux shared: “Will never forget how loudly @bonang_m screamed my name as Miss SA 2024 so I can hear… Forever thank you @bonang_m.”
