Young Stunna calls Shekhinah collab “dream I’ve waited for my whole life”
JOHANNESBURG
Durban-born musician Young Stunna is celebrating what he calls a career milestone after featuring on Shekhinah’s surprise album after years of hoping for the opportunity.
The rapper, born Sandile Msimango, appeared on the track “Spoonky” from Shekhinah’s album “Less Trouble” – her first release in four years (social media post).
Sharing his reaction on Instagram, Young Stunna wrote: “Amaphupho ayafezeka (dreams do come true). I’m so speechless, I have been waiting for this moment my whole life, and I wish I could go back and tell my younger self wagwan in ‘25’, man.”
He added about the collaboration: “When big sis hit me up for this, I could not believe it because I am a big fan. Thank you so much for trusting me with this one, sis. Ticked another wish on the list.”
Shekhinah described her album as depicting emotional recovery, stating on Instagram: “I really want it to communicate that things start off really badly, it seems catastrophic… but at the end of the day things always work out how they’re meant to be.”
She explained the project’s hopeful message: “That’s what the album really is, it starts with break-up season and then it ends in a bang. I want them to know that it could be trouble now but it will subside.”
The collaboration represents a dream realized for Young Stunna and thematic storytelling for Shekhinah in the new album, now available on streaming platforms.
