
Shoprite expands Sixty60 delivery service to nearly 700 stores

Checkers Sixty60 has expanded to 694 stores nationwide, extending delivery access for South African shoppers while growing sales by nearly 50%, owner Shoprite revealed on Tuesday.
The grocery service has increased its presence from 539 outlets in 2024 to 694 currently according to Shoprite’s financial results for the year ending 29 June 2025. (Shoprite financial statement)
Sales through the popular app surged 47.7% to R18.9 billion during the reporting period. The service maintained high-performance standards with 94% on-time deliveries and 96.8% order fulfilment. (Shoprite performance metrics)
CEO Pieter Engelbrecht stated that this growth builds customer loyalty and reflects institutional progress: “With Sixty60 recently crossing the 100 million order mark, I think it’s fair to say we are making inroads in terms of our ambition, and I couldn’t be prouder of this result and more so, our 168,000 employees.” (Engelbrecht statement)
