Andile Ncube shares mansion progress after costly building error
JOHANNESBURG —
Media personality Andile Ncube has shown off his dream mansion under construction after overcoming a costly building mistake. The Metro FM presenter gave fans a glimpse of the house in a video tour on his YouTube channel.
The 43-year-old shared he is “very happy” with the progress. Last week, he showed followers the building site and explained his vision while displaying future house plans.
The project faced a major hurdle when Ncube made an expensive error three months ago. He admitted: “I made a mistake and it’s the most costly mistake I’ve ever made. Anybody that’s building your house can only advise you, at the end of the day it’s your house and you make a decision. When my contractor said they need to do my slab, they gave me the costing for it. I said I’m going to try and see if I can get better costing. I did and they said it wasn’t a good idea.”
This cost-cutting attempt backfired when self-sourced workers produced unacceptable results. The presenter confirmed losing R100,000 as all previous work required complete removal and redoing.
Ncube moved forward by accepting responsibility: “It’s been two to three months since then, things have changed. I’ve picked myself up, admitted to my losses because I was the one at fault. I said let’s go and start all over again.”
The TV host remains optimistic despite the setback, emphasizing: “I’m very happy right now and it’s all coming along.” His mansion represents a long-held dream now taking shape.
