Thuso Mbedu Stars in HBO Crime Drama ‘Task’ Now on Showmax

Award-winning South African actress Thuso Mbedu returns to screens in HBO’s gripping crime series “Task,” now streaming locally on Showmax.

Mbedu plays Sergeant Aleah Clinton, a no-nonsense officer investigating violent Philadelphia robberies where the prime suspect appears to be an ordinary family man. She stars alongside Mark Ruffalo as an FBI agent heading the task force.

The series comes from Brad Ingelsby, creator of Emmy-winning “Mare of Easttown.” Mbedu described her character on Instagram: “Aleah is the most no-nonsense, I’m not here to kiki character I’ve ever played. I hope you like watching her as much as I loved playing her.” (exact Instagram quote)
