DJ Zinhle Wins Powerhouse Award at WomenCan Event

JOHANNESBURG — 11 September 2025

DJ and entrepreneur Ntombezinhle Jiyane-Mohosana, known as Zinhle, received the Powerhouse Award at the 2025 WomenCan Awards in Johannesburg.

She was honoured during Tuesday’s “Night of Mystery Cala” event for showing “unstoppable drive, passion, and commitment to chasing dreams,” according to Daily Sun.

Basadi in Music Awards CEO Hloni Modise-Matau presented the award, describing Zinhle as a woman who “continues to raise the bar and inspire others to dream big.”

In her acceptance speech, Zinhle (42) stated: “This award is deeply personal. I dedicate it to every woman who dares to dream and keep the fire alive.”

She later thanked supporters on social media: “Thank you so much for this honour WomenCan… Tonight, I accept this award. And not just for myself, but for every woman who dares to dream and who keeps the fire alive. And finally thank you to journey for believing in me and for passing on this award.”

Beyond music, Zinhle built businesses including Era by DJ Zinhle and Hair Majesty.

WomenCan organiser Tumi Mthembu praised Zinhle’s innovation and leadership, saying: “This award is not only about Zinhle’s achievements, but about the inspiration she gives us all to embrace our inner fire.”
