Miss SA to Reveal Top 10 Finalists This Week After Ownership Shift
JOHANNESBURG — 14 September 2024
Miss South Africa organisers have announced they will reveal the Top 10 finalists on Tuesday, ending months of delays following the pageant’s takeover by Patrice Motsepe’s company.
The announcement was made in an Instagram post on 14 September, which also confirmed the upcoming reveal of this year’s finale date (Miss South Africa statement). The new queen will succeed 2024 titleholder Mia Le Roux.
This follows the pageant’s recent acquisition by the Motsepe Group, as The South African previously reported.
Organisers will unveil three celebrity judges later this week, according to the social media announcement.
The new Miss SA 2025 winner will likely represent South Africa at the Miss Universe pageant in Thailand on 21 November, where about 130 countries will compete. Denmark’s Victoria Kjær Theilvig will crown her successor.
Mozambique, Palestine and Saudi Arabia will debut on the global stage, while South Africa returns after missing the 2024 event due to Le Roux’s withdrawal.
