
Bonang Matheba and Nomzamo Mbatha Star in New McDonald’s Campaign
South African stars Bonang Matheba and Nomzamo Mbatha have teamed up for McDonald’s latest campaign, delighting fans with their collaboration.
Both celebrated figures bring impressive credentials to the advert. Mbatha is known as an actress, accountant and human rights activist, while Matheba has built her career as a television presenter, radio host and entrepreneur.
The campaign sees these influential women representing “the excellence, resilience, and beauty of African women leading on their own terms” (@Waylonjunior via Twitter). This marks another high-profile international project for both, following Mbatha hosting Earthshot Week in October 2024, and Matheba co-hosting the Earthshot Prize Awards.
Social media reacted enthusiastically to the partnership. Twitter user @m_kobene noted: “For once, she cordially co-existed with another queen, unthreatened.”
Matheba celebrated the campaign on Instagram: “..Those Who Know, Know.. Mbatha also shared on Instagram: “So, we did a thing…#ThoseWhoKnowKnow!!”
