Nomzamo Mbatha Becomes Creme of Nature’s First South African Ambassador
SOUTH AFRICA — 19 July 2025
Actress and humanitarian Nomzamo Mbatha has been named Creme of Nature’s first South African ambassador. She revealed in an exclusive GLAMOUR South Africa interview how she plans to champion hair acceptance and African identity through the partnership.
Mbatha expressed excitement about representing a brand focused on African beauty: “On the spectrum of our radiance, our heritage, our identity, and our relationship with our hair, it’s powerful. I’d like to think that who I am represents different facets of womanhood, especially the African woman today.” (GLAMOUR SA interview)
She credited her KwaMashu upbringing for shaping her values, recalling her grandmother’s Zulu wisdom: “engathi singakufihla umhlaba ungakoni”. She explained its meaning: “if only we could shield you from the world, that it may not ruin you”. (Nomzamo Mbatha)
Her childhood community shaped her resilience: “The significance of KwaMashu was that, without the hardship I was surrounded by, I often wonder if I would have led with survival and [moving forward] not only as my motivator but also a form of kryptonite… You always choose how the story ends.” (Nomzamo Mbatha)
Mbatha highlighted community as her compass: “It has been my pillar that I lean on… Culture and heritage is what I want to keep most alive; it’s my sense of pride.” She hopes her journey inspires other women to embrace authenticity. (Nomzamo Mbatha)
The partnership focuses on meaningful engagement: “It means being in conversation with women — not just selling to them. This brand sees our textured hair in all its beauty and complexity… Creme of Nature has us covered.” (Nomzamo Mbatha)
