Ashley Opens Up About Split: “Sweet Guluva Broke Up With Me”

Former Big Brother Mzansi contestant Ashley Ogle has revealed that season winner Sweet Guluva unexpectedly ended their relationship, leaving her heartbroken. She shared this during an interview aired on Thursday.

Ogle told host Lasizwe Dambuza on Drink or Tell the Truth that her romance with Sweet Guluva (real name Akhonamathemba Mbele-Zwane) ended when he decided to call it quits. “I’m going to just say that Sweet Guluva broke up with me. The man, I didn’t break up with him. So obviously, I was forced to like go with it,” Ogle explained.

She made a stark distinction between the TV persona and the real person: “I’ll still say I am in love with Sweet Guluva. I don’t particularly like Akhonamathemba.” She added: “I think that Sweet Guluva was in love with me, and he liked me, but Akhonamathemba didn’t see us as like a couple. No, he didn’t. It wasn’t the same.”

The breakup happened about a month before the interview. When asked about Sweet Guluva’s reasons, she recalled: “I don’t even recall the reason. I think it was pretty much invalid. He said some like he’s working.”

Ogle believes his real-life self lacked long-term interest: “To me it seemed as if Akhonamathemba never had plans for Ashley Ogle; it was just Sweet Guluva who had the plans for Ashley Ogle.”

Her comments reveal the challenges of dating in the public eye. Sweet Guluva has not publicly responded to these claims (source not provided).
