Cassper Nyovest alleges Uber driver stole friend’s birthday gift
JOHANNESBURG — [Current Date]
Rapper Cassper Nyovest has accused an Uber courier driver of stealing an expensive birthday gift he sent to a friend.
Nyovest claims he used Uber’s courier service to deliver a present, but it never arrived. The driver reportedly marked the delivery as “returned to sender” instead (according to Nyovest’s Instagram statements).
“Uber has become such complete rubbish!!!!” Nyovest wrote on Instagram. “Yesterday I tried to send a gift to one of my friends through Uber courier and the driver decided to steal the gift and report that he returned to me!!!”
He named driver “Dymon” and stated: “Such an expensive gift, ruined my day and ruined the gesture for my friend cause he was so excited!!!”
Nyovest later shared an update in a video post, saying: “It’s been three days that Uber has been calling me. Every day I get calls from different people and apologies, but my item is not back yet… Uber is lying to me as well… I’m forced to open a police case because this guy stole from me and he’s lying.” He described the situation as “rubbish”.
The rapper claims Uber offered conflicting information about the package’s whereabouts (Instagram video statement). Uber has not publicly commented on the allegations (no response available at time of publication).
Nyovest confirmed he would file a police case and vowed never to use Uber courier services again. The incident has sparked widespread reactions on social media.
