Cyan Boujee Reveals Cosmetic Surgery Journey, Inspiration from Cardi B

Influencer Cyan Boujee has openly discussed her cosmetic surgeries, revealing her childhood body image struggles and desire to resemble rapper Cardi B during a podcast interview.

The 24-year-old DJ, born Honour Zuma, told L-Tido’s podcast she underwent a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) because “I had a lady I looked up to, and I just knew that one day I wanted to look like her” (Boujee podcast interview). Boujee stated, “I did my BBL because I just definitely wanted to.”

She described painful teenage years, claiming her natural shape left her feeling isolated: “No one really wanted to associate themselves with me because I looked so bold and straight. My body was like an ice-cream body… straight up. If I wore pants, it was worse” (Boujee). Boujee criticised societal beauty standards, saying, “Let’s talk about cartoons. If you see a big woman there, aren’t they always the villain?”

Her body transformation included gastric sleeve surgery in Turkey last year costing R58,000, which helped her lose 25kg. She later opted for a breast lift in Durban, explaining, “I’m just getting my boobs lifted up so they are upright and pointy” due to sagging from weight loss (Boujee Instagram/Boujee statement).

Boujee acknowledged surgery risks can be addictive: “I want to have a unique body and surgeries are very addictive. Once you start, you can’t stop.” She targets 60-65kg to achieve her desired look (Boujee statement).

The content creator emphasised her pursuit of self-acceptance: “I know I’m just 22 [now 23] and I’m putting my body under much pressure, but I want to be in a space where I am genuinely happy with my body” (January 2025 Boujee statement).
