Gauteng 9-Hour Power Cut Wednesday

Eskom Schedules Nine-Hour Power Outage for Dobsonville Areas

Eskom will cut electricity in parts of Dobsonville, Gauteng for nine hours on Wednesday for essential maintenance.

The outage affects Mmesi Park and Old Dobsonville from 9:00 to 18:00 on 3 September.

Eskom stated: “The interruption of electricity is necessary to perform essential maintenance on our distribution power lines.”

The utility said planned maintenance across Gauteng ensures infrastructure safety and reliability: “It is essential for maintenance to be conducted to service the infrastructure to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the electricity supply.” (Eskom statement)

Customers must treat all electrical appliances as live during the outage for safety reasons.

Eskom apologised: “Eskom apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused by this maintenance. Should circumstances beyond the control of Eskom arise, the planned electricity maintenance may not proceed as communicated.”
