
Hungani Ndlovu Announces Return of Hit Show “Musical Chairs”

Popular South African actor and dancer Hungani Ndlovu has announced the return of his acclaimed theatre production “Musical Chairs” for a second season.
Ndlovu shared the news on Instagram using the exact words: “MUSICAL CHAIRS IS BACK!! After an outstanding debut, this powerful South African production returns for a second run!” (Hungani Ndlovu Instagram post).
In a statement, Ndlovu explained that the show had a strong impact during its first season, calling it “a powerful testament of intimacy, understanding, and shared rhythm.” He added, “This play isn’t just about the game. It’s about belonging, and the human need to be seen. We’ve all played musical chairs, but on stage, it becomes a mirror of life itself.”
The production blends street dance, emotion, audience interaction, and social commentary. Ndlovu and co-creator Genesis Shirindza will also host talks in Johannesburg on the role of theatre in modern arts between 8 and 15 October.
The Hungani Ndlovu Foundation, launched this month, will run a sneaker collection drive during the show. Ndlovu urged audiences: “Every pair of sneakers tells a story. Share yours.”
“Musical Chairs” returns to Theatre On The Square in Sandton from 22 October to 08 November. Tickets are available via Webtickets.
Ndlovu emphasised his foundation’s mission through another direct Instagram quote: “A New Chapter Begins. The HUNGANI NDLOVU FOUNDATION is here!! – a movement for youth development and men’s wellness. Our logo is more than just a symbol.
