Norse Atlantic expands Cape Town-London service to six weekly flights
CAPE TOWN
Norse Atlantic Airways will increase flights between London Gatwick and Cape Town to six weekly services from this October as demand exceeds expectations.
The low-cost carrier launched the route in October 2024 with three weekly flights, expanded to four earlier this year, and will now add two more flights during its upcoming summer season.
The seasonal service will extend beyond its original schedule to operate until May 2026, with the next season starting on 2 October 2025.
Chief Commercial Officer Bård Nordhagen stated the airline sees significant opportunity in the South African market following last year’s successful inaugural season. “By expanding services, we wish to show to the trade and consumer markets we are committed to this route,” he said.
All Cape Town flights will operate using modern Boeing 787 Dreamliners according to the airline’s fleet plan.
UK travellers gain more flexibility and affordable options for visiting Cape Town due to the increased frequency, which may potentially lower ticket prices on the popular route. (Airline statement)
