Ntando Rambani celebrates turning 30, marriage and book release
JOHANNESBURG — 2025
SAMA-nominated director and actress Ntando Rambani reflects on a milestone year that included her 30th birthday, wedding to musician Una Rams, and debut book release. In an exclusive interview with Clicks Magazine, Rambani shared her gratitude for the pivotal personal and professional moments.
Describing her thirtieth birthday, Rambani said: “I feel so grateful for the gift of life, for the opportunity to pursue my dreams and desires, and to have lived another year surrounded by the people I love.” She views this decade as a period of growth, noting: “I believe I’m a work in progress… I’m excited to continue learning and evolving as a person.”
Her intimate wedding ceremony was deliberately kept private. Rambani explained: “Given my public life and status, I crave normalcy and intimacy. My wedding was a precious moment I wanted to share solely with loved ones, away from the spotlight.” She met Rams at a Venda gig, and their relationship deepened when he “consistently kept every single promise to me”.
Her newly released parenting book emerged from frequent requests for advice. “I figure what works for me might not work for someone else, so I decided rather to share my own journey instead,” Rambani stated. The book emphasises self-compassion and community support during parenting challenges.
A key lesson she shared: “One key lesson I’ve learned is the importance of giving myself grace and embracing the support of my community when needed. I wish I could have known it earlier to spare myself some stress.” She hopes the book inspires readers “to be kind to themselves and to cherish the moments, even the tough ones”.
Driven by her daughter’s aspirations, Rambani launched the Sbahle Siyakhula salon featuring the Sbahle Siyafunda library. She describes 2025 as a year where “her personal and creative worlds have beautifully come together, a year of love, purpose, and celebrating life’s blessings.”
