Springboks Play Twice in London for SA Expats

Springboks to play two London matches in three weeks during 2025

South African rugby fans in Britain will see the Springboks play twice in London within three weeks during October and November 2025, an unprecedented fixture schedule. The world champions face Argentina at Twickenham on 4 October and Japan at Wembley Stadium on 1 November.

The Twickenham match is Argentina’s home fixture in the Rugby Championship. Tickets cost £55 for adults and £28 for under-16s, with 55,000 tickets already sold according to organisers’ statement in the original article.

This fixture could decide the Rugby Championship title. It marks only the second time the tournament has hosted a match outside SANZAAR nations (South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Argentina). Key players including Siya Kolisi and Eben Etzebeth are expected to play.

The Wembley match will be the first rugby event at the stadium since 2016. It offers South Africa’s first chance to face Japan since Japan’s 34-32 victory in the 2015 World Cup, remembered as the “Miracle of Brighton”.

South African expatriates filled Twickenham for matches against Wales and England this year. Both upcoming games are expected to sell out quickly with significant expatriate support.

Tickets for the Japan match start at £55 (adults) and £27.50 (under-16s). Group discounts are available for 10+ tickets through Ticketmaster.co.uk.

These games represent rare opportunities for UK-based fans to watch the Springboks locally. The London South African community is encouraged to secure tickets early for both fixtures.
