Table Mountain’s “Local is Lekker – Heritage Edition Special”

Special Cable Car Rates for SA Locals on Table Mountain in September

South Africans can ride Table Mountain’s cable car at a discounted rate throughout September to celebrate Heritage and Tourism Month, the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company announced.

From 1 to 30 September 2025, locals pay R250 per adult and R100 per child to experience the mountain voted a New 7 Wonder of Nature. (Company statement)

Visitors must present a valid South African ID to qualify for the “Local is Lekker – Heritage Edition Special” offer.

All discounted tickets must be booked online in advance, with none available on the day of visitation. Demand is expected to be high, with limited numbers available daily.

The cable car provides panoramic views of Cape Town, Robben Island and the Atlantic Ocean. At the summit, visitors can hike trails, spot unique plants and wildlife, or enjoy meals at mountaintop restaurants. (Company statement)
